NEW OILS FOR YOUR LITTLES

HO_LittleOilersPSK2_01.jpg

If you are a mama & are NOT a Young Living member…stop everything right this second. I promise you, your momming game could be a whole lot easier!

Essential oils are now my number 1 mama tool! I cannot recommend them enough.

I use them mostly for health, but boy, do they chill out my kids. Bedtime was a nightmare before the owl. Now, they go to bed no problem. It’s incredible.

Children in 2020 are over charged. Zapped with various mirco-waves, emfs and now…5G(which is on a whole other level) daily. It takes extra effort to bring them back down to earth. We hardly even use technology with our kids, aside from movie nights but there is no escaping the effects of current technology. It is all around us even with everything off.

My almost 13 year old is doing “distance” education where he is in front of a computer for 6 hours a day…minimum! I hate it. It’s awful and I see the effects creeping up. He is stressed. I want us to go back to homeschooling on our own curriculum, he wants to be with his friends and continue regular school.

So, here we are.

Having his diffuser going while he is in his zoom class has been a God send! It just makes him happy. He usually chooses orange & theives while studying. I didn’t realize how this one, seemingly small thing, could help ease his mind and make his school day more tolerable. Moms… GET THIS FOR DISTANCE EDUCATION ASAP!

The days we get our monthly Young Living package, is like Christmas. We have overhauled our entire house and rid it completely of anything that contains “fragrance” or “parfum”. Dig into the research on that one…. nasty stuff that we don’t want anywhere near our precious babies. We purchase things like cleaning supplies, soap, toothpaste, vitamins, etc anyways… so might as well buy wisely and safely. With 2020 craziness, it also makes my life easier since the products show up at my doorstep!

So back to oils and kids…and why you need them. First…to chill out your overstressed household. You can use them to cleanse the air of germs. I have mine going all day and the kids love to choose their own blends. We use them in their baths, we put vitality blends in our drinks…they actually think they are fun to roll on. It’s been soooo beneficial to our family. I can’t even tell you enough how much I love our oils.

If you are not a Young Living member already, because this deal is only open to new members, it’s time you join the craze. The hype is legit…

This KidScents Premium Starter Kit comes with 6 oils that are safe for little ones and our favorite oil diffuser, the “sleepy owl”, as my kids call him. He is so sweet…he changes color and also has a built in sound machine with various sounds and melodies.

EATS: Simple Summer Pasta

Screen_Shot_2019-04-23_at_3.27 3.JPG

As Summer is is coming to an end, I wanted to sneak in the perfect Summer recipe on the blog before it was too late! You will be thanking me after you make this...I promise! This is the best lemon pasta you have ever had. Its so light(for a pasta) & the lemon adds a nice freshness making it a Summer favorite. I personally think it's great year round but we tend to have this more in the Summer months. I must confess that I am NOT a pasta person. Other than something light like a checca angel hair, most dishes feel so heavy to me. I always regret it...so I try to stay away as much as I can. It's not even the pasta dough itself...its always cooked in so much oils and fat which is why I hate it. That being said, this is the only one I will eat which means it can't be heavy. It can be made as a vegetarian dish like this recipe or exclude the parmesan to make it vegan. Sorry, not raw folks...however I suppose could probably pull this off with zucchini noodles.

Let’s get started!

It takes me about 15-20 mins to make this start to finish. Pretty quick huh? And this is a great leftover dish too… making it a mommy favorite!

WHAT YOU WILL NEED:

1 lb thin spaghetti

3 lemons- juiced 1/2 cup, 1-2 tbsp lemon zest

1/2- 1 cup fresh basil

spices: salt & pepper

2/3 cup olive oil

parmesan- grated & thinly shaved (optional) 1/2 cup grated, 1/2 cup shaved

1. Boil water, add a few pinches of salt and add spaghetti noodles. cook for 12-15 mins or until tender. strain & save 1/2 cup of the cooking water

While your spaghetti is cooking...

2. grate one lemon, juice all 3 lemons and wisk them together with olive oil & grated parmesan

3.  Once you have your noodles ready, the 1/2 cup of cooking water & lemon mixture, add the liquids to the pasta slowly while stiring. You may have too much liquid so go slowly and stop when you have moist noodles with an obvious coating but not so much that it pools at the bottom of the bowl. You do not want them soggy.

4. finely chop fresh basil...you can't have too much! mix into pasta

5. Add salt and pepper to taste

That’s it! Easy enough, right? Enjoy! Let me know how yours turns out in the comments:)
