OUR ADOPTION JOURNEY: Part 2

Welp, I wish this was a happy go lucky, fairytale ending type of post… but sadly, it is anything but that. We fought to good fight, we gave our best effort. But ultimately, God has his own plans that are usually very different to ours. I will get into more details of how, when & why we changed gears… but for now, here is where we are at.

With us being smack in the middle of our Colombian adoption in 2020, God gave us clear signs that instead of looking outward for our child… we needed to look inward, at our community. We needed to help our country and it’s children. Not to mention, all things 2020 were making the road just too impossible. God spoke to our hearts and so we have come to the conclusion that foster care is the right choice for our family, at the moment.

We will be ready for our first placement here in a few short weeks! We are nervous but extremely excited. We know God had his plan all along… we just were not ready for this. Foster care is hard, complicated and heartbreaking. But we come into this with open hearts, minds and a lot more parent training!

I will update soon and probably disclose more about our international adoption rocky road, but for now, we are still emotionally reeling from changing gears. It is overwhelming and even talking about it feels like a chore! So ha;) Next time friends, next time!
